How to see how much data is in Wave
- Sign in to Wave as an owner or admin
- Open Sales & Payments → Customers and note the number of customers
- Open Accounting → Transactions, set the widest date range and note the number of transactions
- Note how many years of books the business holds
Wave has no storage page; record customer and transaction counts and the date range covered.
How to get a copy of your Wave data
- Sign in at waveapps.com
- Click your business name → Business settings
- Under Other, click Data Export
- Choose Accounting, Receipts or Payroll
- Open the email and click Download data export within 24 hours
Owners and admins can go to your business name → Business settings → Data Export and choose Accounting (four CSV or XLS files), Receipts (a ZIP of receipt images) or Payroll (Canada only). Wave emails you a download link.
The emailed link only works for 24 hours, and each export covers one business profile. Viewer and Editor roles can't export.
These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
