How to see how much data is in UKG

  1. Sign in to UKG Pro or UKG Ready as an administrator
  2. Open Reports and run the Employee Headcount report (UKG Ready) or your headcount report (UKG Pro)
  3. Include terminated employees and note the totals
  4. Note how many years of payroll and timekeeping history exist

Record employee count (active plus terminated) and years of history; UKG shows no storage figure and report names differ between Pro and Ready.

How to get a copy of your UKG data

  1. Sign in with report access
  2. Open Reports and choose a standard report
  3. Set the date range and filters
  4. Pick an output type (Excel, PDF or CSV) and run it
  5. Download the file

Users with report access can run a standard report and choose an output type such as Excel, PDF or CSV. Bulk copies of the data come through UKG's Data Hub or Data Extraction Tool, which UKG sets up.

UKG Pro, Pro Workforce Management and Ready all have different menus, and a CSV of a complex report may contain only its main section.

UKG’s official export instructions

These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
