How to see how much data is in Square

  1. Sign in to the Square Dashboard on the web
  2. Go to Orders & payments → Transactions and set the widest date range
  3. Note the number of transactions
  4. Check Items and Customers for their totals

Square has no storage page; record transaction, item and customer counts and the years covered.

How to get a copy of your Square data

  1. Sign in to the Square Dashboard as the owner
  2. Go to Orders & payments → Transactions
  3. Set the date range and filters
  4. Click Export
  5. Save the CSV

Account owners (or team members with permission) can go to Orders & payments → Transactions in the Square Dashboard, set filters, and click Export for a CSV.

Export works only in the web Dashboard, not the POS app, and some card-search results are limited to the last year.

Square’s official export instructions

These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
