Data guides
Splunk: see how much data you have, then export it.
Pick a system to see two things: how to check how much data is in it, and how to export a copy. No form, no sign-in.

How to see how much data is in Splunk
- Sign in to Splunk Cloud with a role that has the indexes_edit capability
- Open the Cloud Monitoring Console app
- Go to License Usage → Storage Summary
- Note Searchable Storage (DDAS) usage and the Index Details table (GB per index)
Record the DDAS usage in GB and, if you have it, Archive Storage (DDAA) usage; on Splunk Enterprise, check Settings → Indexes for each index's current size instead.

How to get a copy of your Splunk data
- Sign in to Splunk Web
- Run your search over the time range you need
- Click Export
- Choose CSV, set a file name and row limit
- Save the file
After running a search, click Export, choose CSV, and optionally set a row limit. For large exports, the CLI or REST API is more reliable.
Admins can hide the Export button, and Splunk only keeps data for each index's retention period.
These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
