How to see how much data is in LiveChat

  1. Sign in to LiveChat as an admin or owner
  2. Open Reports → Total chats
  3. Set a custom date range covering your whole history
  4. Note the total number of chats

LiveChat has no storage page; record total chats (chat exports are capped at the latest 100,000 records, so big histories need several date ranges).

How to get a copy of your LiveChat data

  1. Sign in as an admin
  2. Open Reports and choose the report
  3. Set a custom date range
  4. Click Export CSV
  5. Repeat by date range if you have more than 100,000 chats

Report CSVs can be downloaded with Export CSV on any report (Team plan or higher). Raw chat data can be exported on Business and Enterprise plans.

Chat exports are capped at the latest 100,000 records, so larger histories must be exported in date ranges, and raw chat data doesn't include the message transcripts.

LiveChat’s official export instructions

These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
