How to see how much data is in Basecamp
- Sign in to Basecamp as the account owner
- From the Home page, open Adminland
- Choose Manage storage
- Note the current storage usage and the largest files listed
Record the storage used across all projects; uploads in Pings and Chats count toward it even though they don't appear in the largest-files list.

How to get a copy of your Basecamp data
- Sign in as the account owner
- Click Adminland on the Home page
- Select Export data from this account
- Check the active or archived projects to include
- Click Export my data and download from the email
Only the account owner can export, from Adminland → Export data from this account. Basecamp emails when a full HTML copy of the selected projects is ready.
Admins cannot export, only owners. Pings are a separate export option, and you should let the download finish before canceling an account.
These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
