How to see how much data is in Azure Blob Storage

  1. Sign in to the Azure portal
  2. Select Monitor from the left-hand pane, and under Insights select Storage Accounts
  3. Select all subscriptions and storage accounts in the drop-down lists
  4. Select Capacity at the top of the page and note Account used capacity and Blob capacity for each account

Record the sum of Blob capacity (or used capacity) across all storage accounts; the view shows up to 200 accounts at a time.

How to get a copy of your Azure Blob Storage data

  1. Install and open Azure Storage Explorer
  2. Select Subscription, sign in, select your subscriptions, and click Open Explorer
  3. Expand the storage account → Blob Containers and select the container

Azure Blob Storage’s official export instructions

These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
