Data guides
AWS S3: see how much data you have, then export it.
Pick a system to see two things: how to check how much data is in it, and how to export a copy. No form, no sign-in.

How to see how much data is in AWS S3
- Sign in to the AWS Management Console and open Amazon S3
- Open the Buckets page
- In the Account snapshot section, note Total storage and Object count
- Optionally, open the S3 Storage Lens dashboard (default-account-dashboard) to break the total down by Region or bucket
Record Total storage from the account snapshot, which updates daily; repeat for every AWS account the company uses.

How to get a copy of your AWS S3 data
- Sign in to the AWS console and open CloudShell (console.aws.amazon.com/cloudshell)
- Run: aws s3 sync s3://YOUR-BUCKET ./temp
- Run: zip temp.zip -r temp/
- Choose Actions → Download file, enter temp.zip, and click Download
- For buckets over 1 GB, run aws s3 cp s3://YOUR-BUCKET . --recursive from your own computer instead
Buckets can be copied with AWS CLI or DataSync; Storage Lens shows totals per account.
Confirm which buckets belong to your business before estimating.
These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
