How to see how much data is in 8x8

  1. Sign in to 8x8 Admin Console
  2. Open Recordings from the Home page
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the list so every recording loads
  4. Tick the box next to the Interaction date header to select all
  5. Note the total media size shown at the top left (each row also has a Size column)

Record the total recording size in MB/GB and how many recordings there are; on newer time-based storage plans, older recordings may already be in cold storage or deleted.

How to get a copy of your 8x8 data

  1. Sign in at login.8x8.com
  2. Select the Admin Console tile
  3. Click Recordings on the Home page
  4. Download recordings that show no archive icon
  5. Retrieve archived recordings first, then download them when the 'Recording is ready!' email arrives

Admins can sign in to 8x8, open the Admin Console tile, then go to Recordings to find call recordings and download them.

Older recordings move to archive (cold storage). They must be retrieved first, which can take up to 12 hours in batches of up to 2 GB, and they stay available for only 7 days.

8x8’s official export instructions

These instructions are written by DataFrenzy from each vendor’s public help pages. Menu names can vary by plan and change over time; the official link on each guide is the final word. Screenshots come from each vendor’s own help pages and videos or, where noted, from third-party tutorials credited under the image; dashed outlines are illustrations, not screenshots. Looking up a size or preparing an export never sends anything to DataFrenzy.
